Catholic Youth Camp's schedule is based on SLC: Camp DeSales's long running high school program, as well as the schedules of similar LifeTeen and Damascus programs. Many teens arrive assuming the recreational activities will be what they like most: tubing, swimming, kayaks, paddle boards, paintball, gaga ball, mud pit, arts and crafts, and much more. And these activities are FUN and make up almost half of the day. But many leave saying the retreat activities were their favorite: heartfelt testimonies, discussions that led to deeper friendships, beautiful worship music and prayer.
Meals are rarely a highlight at camps, but that is not the case at Camp DeSales. Warm, homemade bread, fresh salads and vegetables, warm cookies and teen-favorite menus guarantee you will be well fed and happy.
New friendships, moving presentations, great discussions, beautiful prayer, fun recreational activities and delicious food … we promise you a great week at Camp DeSales!
Arrival and Departure
Please arrive at Camp on Tuesday between 2 and 3 PM. Upon arriving, staff and signs will direct you to the correct buildings. Each session will conclude Sunday with 11 AM outdoor Mass overlooking beautiful Vineyard Lake. Families are welcome to attend Mass and stay afterwards for lunch. Camp will provide brats, lemonade and potato chips. You are welcome to bring other drinks, a side dish and/or dessert for your family.
CYC Sleeping Facilities
We will be using two over-night facilities: Lawrence Lodge and Vineyard Cabin, one for guys and one for gals depending on the numbers. Both are air conditioned and have attached bathrooms. Parish and school youth ministers will be sleeping in Lawrence Lodge, Welch Cottage and the hermitages. Pictures of these facilities can be found under the "FACILITIES" drop-down menu above.
